Reviewing Reports in HiBoop

Review outcome reports, track patient progress over time, and export assessment data in HiBoop.

HiBoop's Outcome Report shows how your clients' scores change across your clinic: average scores per session, the change between sessions, and the clients behind each number.

How do I use the Outcome Report?

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In the left-hand menu, open Reporting and click Outcome Report.
  2. Use the toolbar at the top:
    • View Type: Patients (clients under each assessment), Questions (each question's average score), or one of your profile fields, such as gender
    • The date range, for example Last 30 days or Last 6 months
    • The date type: All Activity, Intake or Discharge
    • Filters: narrow by Programs, Care Team, Assessments, Conditions, Patients, Sessions and your profile fields. In Care Team, your own name is at the top, marked (You).
  3. Each filter you set shows as a chip above the table. Click its x to clear it.
  4. The table shows:
    • One row per assessment (for example, PHQ-9 or GAD-7)
    • Columns for Intake, Check-In, Discharge and Follow-up, with the average score as score / maximum (for example, 14 / 21)
    • A % Change column, if it is turned on (see below)
  5. Click the arrow next to an assessment to see the clients, questions or groups under it.

The pill next to the title shows how many clients are in the report.

How do I measure the amount of change over time?

The % Change column shows how much scores changed between two sessions.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In the Outcome Report, open the ... menu next to Export and make sure Show % Change is on.
  2. In the % Change column header, choose the two sessions to compare (for example, Intake and Discharge).

How it's calculated

% Change = (First Score − Later Score) ÷ First Score × 100

Example: a client scored 20 at Intake and 10 at Discharge.

(20 − 10) ÷ 20 × 100 = 50%, shown as 50% improvement.

HiBoop knows which scales improve when the score goes up, and labels those the right way round.

What the colours mean

  • Green, "improvement": symptoms got better
  • Red, "decline": symptoms got worse
  • Grey, "No Change"
  • Insufficient data: not enough scores to compare

When you compare two sessions, clients who haven't completed both may not appear. To see everyone, turn off Show % Change.

How do I export report data?

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In the left-hand menu, open Reporting and click Outcome Report.
  2. Set the date range and filters you want.
  3. Click Export at the top right and choose:
    • CSV Patient Assessments: one row per assessment score
    • CSV Patient Answers: adds each question and its score
    • Print to PDF: prints the report as you see it
  4. Your file downloads, or your browser's print window opens.

What's included in the export

The CSV files use your date range, date type, compared sessions, and the Programs, Care Team, Patients and profile field filters. The Assessments, Conditions and Sessions filters do not apply to the CSV files.

You need the View reports permission to use the Outcome Report. Seeing individual clients in it also needs permission to view their results. For one client's results, see How do I export patient assessment results?

Why is some data missing from the report?

Blank cells or missing clients usually mean the data isn't there yet, or a filter is hiding it.

Common reasons data is missing

1. Assessment not completed

Only completed sessions count. A session that was sent but not finished doesn't appear.

2. No session of that type yet

If a client hasn't had a Discharge yet, there is no Discharge score for them.

3. Assessment not in the session

If a session didn't include that scale, there is no score for it.

4. Filters or dates are hiding data

The date range, date type or a filter may leave results out. Widen the dates or clear filters.

5. Comparing sessions

With Show % Change on, clients who haven't completed both compared sessions may not appear.

6. Archived or test clients

Archived clients and test patients are left out of reports.
