HiBoop at CNA Conference 2026

HiBoop will be at CNA Conference 2026, the Canadian Nurses Association's national conference, September 21-23 at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg. This year's theme is "The Power of Nurses to Transform Health: Our Expertise, Our Impacts."

We are attending, not exhibiting. There is no HiBoop booth to find. We are there with our partners Cherry Health and Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres, and happy to talk in the hallway or over coffee.

Why a nursing conference

Because in most of the settings we work in, nurses are the ones who actually administer the screening.

Mental health measurement tends to get discussed as a clinician-facing question, but the operational reality in primary care, community health and addiction medicine is that intake and routine screening sit with nursing staff. If a PHQ-9 gets done at all, it is frequently a nurse who sends it, collects it and flags the result. A workflow that ignores that is a workflow that does not run.

It is also a scope question. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are among the providers who can bill several of the codes in our billing-code reference, which makes the measurement question a practical one rather than an academic one.

What we would talk about

How screening actually gets administered and scored without adding a data-entry step to someone's shift. Automated scoring and safety flags the moment a patient submits. Charting change over time rather than filing a score once.
